It’s a lid, but it is a nice lid. It matches the quality of the pot, and the fit is perfect. I had used another lid of the same size, but I thought this paderno pot was worth having its proper top, and I was right. The paderno lid is much heavier and higher quality. Expensive, but pot and lid should last a lifetime.
